Street children are one of the most vulnerable groups of people in Burundi. We focus on supporting them, giving them food and access to education, and on helping them re-integrate into society. We provide a foundation for these children to play an active role in reconciliation both in their local communities and in society as a whole.
We run a safe space in Bujumbura where street children can come during the day to receive care, counsel, nutrition, healthcare and informal education. We also provide uniforms and school fees to enable children to attend local schools.
We have a vision to build a village in Muyinga, offering long-term security. The village will give these children a home, a place to go to school and an opportunity to build a life.
