Aisha’s Journey: From Struggle to Strength with Girls at Risk Program

Aisha, 17 years

‘’I had a complicated life when I was still living at my step-mother’s place who used to mistreat me. This led me to also encounter difficulties in my studies. I left the place to go to my mother and live with her, but looking at her challenging circumstances, I decided to finally live with a friend. I had to stop school and started working as a domestic worker.

I discovered the New Generation’s girls’ at risk program thanks to a friend who was already participating in it. Many things have changed since I joined the program. I have learnt to live with dignity, especially being a woman and avoiding bad habits. I have also started saving money. I wish to become a business woman so that I can support my mother financially’’.
