On the 5th July 2015, New Generation and Christian Initiative for peace through a special event entitled “Gir’Ubuntu” held a prayer time with participants from different churches and backgrounds. The event was largely attended by youth who expressed their eagerness to see a better Burundi in the days and years ahead.
The event started off by worship led by Dudu and other invitees. A short word of exhortation on how to pray for the nation was presented by Dieudonne Nahimana. This was followed by a series of prayer moments led by different people such as Teddy from New Generation, Queen Belle Monique a journalist from Radio Isanganiro and Pastor Jeff Baluku from Christian Life Ministries in Burundi.
Dieudonne Nahimana encouraged the youth to realize who they are in Christ and how they ought to behave as a result in these times. He encouraged them to stand with non violent approaches and to promote non-violence. The atmosphere was fuelled with energy, unity and faith in regards to the future of Burundi.
