‘’ My name is Ndihokubwayo Christian and I’m 22 years old. I was born in Muyinga
I’ve grown up in a family that didn’t have much resources and both my parents are separated.
We were living in tough conditions that led me to the streets for a whole year. I was 7 years old at that time (in 2008).
New Generation Burundi had organized some activities with the young people in Muyinga and I used to participate in those in 2009. I asked to be a member of the center and I was also taken care of by New Generation.
I then came to Bujumbura and I’ve been accommodated and integrated in school, thanks to New Generation. I finished my secondary, and I want to start University. I’m currently working at Ubuntu Café, as a waiter.
I’ve always had two dreams in my life. The first one is to become an international footballer. This holds a strong place in my heart. I participated in the Street Child Football World Cup 2018, which happened in Russia.
The second dream is to become a journalist. I don’t have experience in this field but I would love to learn the skill’’.
